only eight clauses present but in the latest standard of ISO 9001:2015 there are 10 clauses present.

we would know that the first four clauses ordered from zero to three do not have any difference.

The first four clauses are Introduction, Scope, Normative and Terms, and Definitions.

So the four clauses are similar in both the quality standards in ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015.

But there are more differences present in the other clauses.

In ISO 9001:2008 the fourth clause was Quality Management System but in ISO 9001:2015,

a new clause is added and its name is Context of the Organization.

The fifth clause is divided into two sections in the latest ISO standards ie from Management

responsibility it is changed and divided into Leadership and Planning.

The Leadership and Planning clauses are ordered as 5 and 6 in the latest Quality Management

 Standard ie ISO 9001:2015.

In ISO 9001:2008 the sixth clause was Resource Management but it has also changed to Support and order as 7 in the ISO 9001:2015. Also, the 7th ordered clause which was named as Product realization in ISO 9001:2008 was changed and its numerical order is 8 and it is named as

Operation in ISO 9001:2015.

The final eighth clause in ISO 9001:2008 which was named as Measurement, analysis,

and improvement is changed into two clauses and that is Performance evaluation and

Improvement. The Performance Evaluation and Improvement are ordered as 9 and 10 in

the ISO 9001:2015.

The Base of the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015 is the same and both the ISO

standards are developed on the PDCA cycle. The PDCA stands for PLAN, DO,

CHECK & Act.

The four clauses ie Leadership, Planning, Support and Context of the Organization represents the Plan phase of the PDCA cycle. The Operation clause ordered with 8 number represents the Do phase ie execution.

The ninth clause represents the Check phase of the PDCA cycle and the 10th clause ie Improvement represents the Act phase of the cycle.
